Tab Trade — What It Is
Tab Trade opened in Q1 2026. Trading platform incorporated in Saint Lucia, regulated by the FSRA. The founder is Benjamin Boulter. Before this, he was on the executive team at BlackBull Markets, an New Zealand-regulated broker.
That last detail is relevant. It suggests the person running this has actually done this before. That is not a guarantee. Still better than a founder with no industry background.
The broker opened with Equinix data centre access in London. Same facilities institutional desks use. Most new brokers focuses on ads and sign-up promos. TabTrade led with infrastructure. Interesting choice.
The instrument list: FX, indices, metals, oil, energies, softs, shares, crypto, exchange-traded funds. A wide spread. For a broker this new, the breadth is broad.
What You Trade On
They offer: MetaTrader 5, cTrader, and a browser platform. Both MT5 and cTrader from the same login. Many only give you one or the other. Getting both makes a difference. Pick what suits your style.
MetaTrader 5 is what most people know. Complete charts, EAs, tons of scripts and indicators. If you have used a MetaQuotes platform before, you know exactly what you are getting.
cTrader is the alternative. Better DOM. Faster charting. Native automated trading. Plenty of traders like it better than MT5 after comparing.
Direct FIX connectivity is there for bots but requires the VIP account ($25k minimum). TradingView charting is reportedly on the roadmap. That should make the platform set once it is live.
What You Pay
Three levels: Standard, Edge, VIP.
Standard account. Spread starts at 1.0 pips. Commission-free. Straightforward. $0 to start. Suits people who want simple pricing.
Edge account. Raw spreads from 0.0 pips on average. Flat commission of $3.50 per side. All-in: spread plus $7 per lot round-turn. On EUR/USD, the actual interbank spread is frequently below 0.2 pips. So your real cost sometimes sits under half a pip. That is good for an offshore broker. Most platforms that offer pricing like this want $500 or more to open. This broker does not.
VIP account. $25,000 minimum. FIX connectivity, sub-20ms execution, negotiated fees. Not something most retail traders. Skip it unless you run serious volume.
How Fast Are the Fills
The speed is the area where this broker actually does something different. Equinix servers in London. Under 30ms on Edge. Below 20ms on VIP. Those are not marketing fluff. The average platform quote hundreds of milliseconds.
Should you care? For short-term trading, it does. The difference between a 30ms fill and a 200ms fill is catching the move or missing it. If you swing trade, you will not notice. The point is they invested in proper execution. That signals something about priorities.
Pair those fill times with the Edge account pricing and the total package is strong. Not many platforms with no minimum deposit run Equinix connectivity.
The FSRA Question
Now, the detail that matters. The broker is under the FSRA in Saint Lucia. That is offshore. No FCA. No government-backed safety net. If the lack of tier-1 regulation makes you uncomfortable, stop reading. Plenty of tier-1 alternatives out there.
That said. The founder came from BlackBull Markets, a tier-1 regulated broker. The execution setup costs real money. Dodgy operations do not pay for Equinix connectivity. None of this guarantee anything. It should be part of your assessment.
The deal: no FCA or ASIC safety net. What you get instead: 1:1000 leverage, raw pricing from 0.0 pips, no minimum deposit, fast fills. Whether this deal makes sense depends on you.
